JYOTISHA
Jyotisha, the Vedic science of astrology, is a timeless branch of knowledge that originated in the sacred Vedas of India. Meaning “the science of light,” Jyotisha interprets celestial influences to understand human life, karma, and destiny. Revered as one of the six Vedangas, it integrates astronomy, mathematics, mythology, and spiritual philosophy into a systematic framework.
At its core, Jyotisha studies the Janma Patrika (birth chart), where the positions of the Lagna, Sun, Moon, planets, Rashis, and Bhavas reveal insights into personality, relationships, career, health, life patterns, and spiritual evolution. The sidereal zodiac, Nakshatras, and Dashas further refine interpretation.
Jyotisha includes specialized branches. Medical Astrology examines planetary influences on health and potential ailments, promoting timely awareness. Tajik Astrology focuses on annual horoscopes through distinctive Yogas. Muhurat Astrology identifies auspicious timings and periods to avoid for important activities. Mundane Astrology studies nations, politics, natural events, and global trends.
Beyond forecasting, Jyotisha is a profound guide to self-discovery and spiritual awakening. It illuminates the principles of Karma, helps individuals recognize their inherent strengths, challenges, and life purpose, and encourages conscious choices aligned with Dharma. By offering a deeper understanding of destiny and the consequences of actions, Jyotisha inspires clarity, righteous living, and meaningful progress toward both worldly fulfilment and spiritual growth.
